TALES FROM PATH

The narrative begins with a pair of shoes, tracing the familiar path from home to university—a route that symbolises the pursuit of aspiration and growth.

The varying positions of the shoes represent the range of experiences encountered along the way. Each placement reflects a different interaction with the environment, whether navigating uneven pavement or gliding over freshly laid asphalt. From the quiet starting point, through crowded intersections, and finally to the bus stop, the shoes evolve into symbolic markers of a broader journey. They embody the idea that the paths we walk, shaped by circumstance and change, often guide us toward meaningful destinations.

Inspired by Elina Chauvet’s Walk a Mile in My Shoes, this project explores the profound symbolism of footwear as a vessel for personal narratives. It draws attention to the emotional and experiential stories embedded in everyday movement, revealing the silent testimony of shoes as they accompany individuals through the diverse moments that define a life in motion.

"Life is a journey that must be travelled no matter how bad the roads and accommodations." — Oliver Goldsmith

"The horizon leans forward, offering you space to place new steps of change."

— Maya Angelou
